“DI Demystified”
This event featured a demonstration of the Discreet Lustre color grading system from Autodesk Media and Entertainment and a Panel Discussion with VFX Supervisors – Joel Hynek, Jeffrey A. Okun, and John Sullivan, as well as Josh Pines, VP of Imaging Research & Development for Technicolor, and Steve Scott, Colorist from E-Film. The panel was moderated by Alan Lasky and coordinated by Peter Anderson, Reid Baker, Toni Pace Carstensen, Ray Feeney, Dan Novy, and Suzan Zwerman. It was hosted by Dalsa Digital Cinema.
As part of the VES Education Committee’s Behind the Scenes: Problem-Solving in Visual Effects Series
This four-part series focused on the “problem-solving” skills employed by some of the top visual effects supervisors in their most recent projects. Real examples of production problems were cited and the audience was invited to develop their own solutions. Afterwards the experts presented and illustrated how the problem was actually solved. Presentations included Glenn Campbell, VFX Supervisor, Area 51;Rocco Gioffre, Digital Matte Artist, Svengali VFX;Jim Rygiel, VFX Supervisor, Lord of the Rings (Trilogy); and Michael Fink, VFX Supervisor, Constantine, X-Men. Coordinated by Glenn Campbell & Art Durinski.
