Cheryl Vanderbilt

Cheryl Vanderbilt is a Producer and Artist from the San Francisco Bay Area. She has overseen projects ranging from producing weekly local television shows, award winning independent films, fulldome films, and science educational series.

With a passion for Science Storytelling, Cheryl has had the opportunity to work on several Fulldome films with the California Academy of Sciences. These Fulldome films have broken the mold of typical planetarium films, tackling subjects more earthbound - such as life processes, ecosystems, seasons, and seismology. Cheryl worked with scientists and researchers from around the world, identifying the most advanced data sets to create informative and engaging films.

Cheryl also has an immense love of traditional animation and storytelling, and holds a BFA in Animation & Visual Effects from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. While there, she managed numerous independent film projects, and became the primary liaison between the Academy of Art University and the independent filmmakers. This partnership provided students with real-world experience, networking opportunities, and breathtaking materials for their demo reels.

Cheryl lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, with her husband, and surrounded by her enormous family. When not working on video or animation, you will often find Cheryl playing board games; watching sci-fi, action/adventure, witty comedies, and silver screen movie classics; traveling to Disneyland & sailing on Disney Cruises; playing piano; knitting, crocheting, sewing, and often appearing in full costume at Comic Con, movie premieres, and more.
