VES Bay Area members – come out to mark the 2nd Annual World VFX Day with your colleagues in San Francisco!

World VFX Day commemorates the historic birthday of the originator of film visual effects – Georges Méliès. This day is a call for all of those working in visual effects, worldwide, to celebrate and recognize our creations and innovation.

We’ll start by meeting up at Red’s Java House on the Embarcadero, 2pm on Sunday, December 8th. VES members are treated to a beer or wine, and a selection of pub food. Red’s Java House is a venerable locale on the City’s East Side, with remarkable views of the bay and the Bridge.

We encourage everyone to then head over to the Delancey Street Screening Room, just a block away, for the Warner Bros FYC screening of the animated Lord of the Rings : The War of the Rohirrim, starting at 4pm.
