Evan Ricks

Evan has had a broad career in computer graphics and animation, having done everything from design to directing, and from programming to producing.  When he began in the industry computer graphics was a new term.  He animated effects in Los Angeles for several popular television shows such as Max Headroom, the Twilight Zone and StarTrek Next Generation.  In the late 1980’s he co-founded a company called Rezn8 Productions to do motion graphics and music videos.  It was very successful, creating spots seen nation wide.  His company was also heavily involved with 3 winter Olympics, creating all on-air graphics.  After leaving Evan went on to supervise and direct commercials, animation, online content and game development.  In 1998 he directed the worlds first all motion capture feature film “Sinbad: Beyond the veil of Mists”.  He has also supervised effects for films such as “Titanic”, “Mortal Kombat II”, “Money Talks” and designed sequences for two popular Imax films, “Alaska” and “Forces of Nature”.

More recently he has supervised visual effects for two Chinese films, “Prince of the Himalayas” and “the Dream is Alive”, and earlier this year finished work on the US live action film “Dragonball : Evolution”.  Currently directing and producing Asia’s first Virtual boy band.  Evan retains his love of photography and animation, and is developing scripts that he hopes one day can be produced in China.
