Blade Zavier

Goldtooth's Chief Creative Officer Blade Zavier is a passionate and creative award-winning filmmaker.  A detail oriented problem solving executive studio head.  Who leads as a Writer, Director, Producer, combined with his Editorial, VFX Supervisor and Artist background.  With years of experience in feature films, commercials, video games, and entertainment, he has developed a unique and extensive skill set that has provided him many honorable opportunities throughout his career.  He believes in the importance of great storytelling being the foundation that drives any picture, and is a leader of innovative filmmaking techniques that accelerate the speed of production from concept to final film.  He is the founder and owner of Goldtooth Creative (2008), B09 Film Group (2013), and Pied Piper Productions (2005).

Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada,  Zavier made his way to Hollywood at a young age.  His film career began in visual effects in 1996, with a thirst for knowledge and drive for quality.  Passion and dedication allowed him to develop his experience over the years as an Artist, Actor, Animator, Cinematographer, Art & Technical Director, and leading productions as a CG Supervisor, VFX Supervisor, Editor, Writer, Director, and Producer.  Working closely with pioneers of the industry, he developed a unique understanding of the creative process behind great storytelling and visionary filmmaking.

Professional career highlights include; directing the short film The Mechanical Apartheid (2016) described by Forbes as "One of the Best Live-Action Game Trailers Ever"; credited (a.k.a. Kody G Sabourin) as director, co-writer, exec producer, and actor.  Overseeing the ground-breaking Deus Ex video campaigns he received multiple "Trailer of the Year" awards, and won "#1 Best Trailer of All Time" for the short film Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Directors Cut (2011), credited as director, producer, co-writer and actor.  The live-action short film Purity First (2011) won him "Gold for Best Copywriting", and "Silver for Outstanding Promotional Trailer", and his commercial for Sarif Ind. (2011) was awarded "Best Online Video".  He directed, co-wrote, and exec produced the short film / announcement trailer for Sleeping Dogs (2012) which was voted "#2  Best Video Game Live-Action Trailer."  As director he won "Best Cinematics of the Year" for Ghostbusters: The Video Game (2009), written by Dan Aykroyd & Harold Ramis, starring Bill Murray and the original Ghostbusters cast.  As Goldtooth's exec producer, senior VFX supervisor and animation director he helped create the Mortal Kombat Legacy series (2011).  He received a Grammy nomination for "Best Recording Package" (2010).  Was the lead artist on the "Best Single Visual Effect of the Year" (2004) for The Matrix Reloaded "Truck Crash".  Is known for the formidable jaw crushing super-punch in Matrix Revolutions (2003), and Fight Night Round 3 (2006).  As a VFX artist, created one of the worlds first realistic digital humans on screen with Mystique in X-Men (2000), and worked on the worlds first motion-based stereoscopic thrill ride The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man (1999) for Universal Studios.

A memorable career with a desire to continuously broaden his skill-set, he is a graduate of Epic's Unreal Fellowship (2021).  Zavier is grateful for the knowledge and experience he gained working closely with leading filmmakers, studio heads, and visual effects pioneers.  Professionals who opened his mind and taught him underlying principles and his discipline for the craft.   Big thanks go out to the trailblazers he worked alongside at Warner Bros. Zavier has directed, produced and been involved with projects at an executive level for clients that include Activision, Capcom, Crytek, Disney, Digital Domain, Eidos, Electronic Arts, Image Engine, Lionsgate, Lucasfilm, Marvel, Microsoft, Square-Enix, Tri-Star, Ubisoft, Vivendi and Warner Bros.
