Andrew Tamandl

Andrew Tamandl is an Australian animator, animation director, vfx artist, and supervising director. He has a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communications from The University of Technology Sydney (1990) and a Masters of Arts from the Australian Television and Radio School (1998). His graduating film from AFTRS, “Has Beans”, was nominated for an AACTA (1998), won the Brussels Short Film Festival (2000), and was recently screened in the QAGOMA retrospective (2022) “The Magic Arts: Australian Animation from the 1970’s to Now”.

Andrew has created animated content on a wide variety of feature film and commercial projects since 1999, including “Deep Blue Sea”, “Xmen”, “The Fast and the Furious”, “Flags of our Fathers”, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons”, “The Tree of Life”, “Transformers”, “The Guardians of the Galaxy”, and “Star Trek into Darkness”.

He has taught character animation, pre-visualization, CG production, and screen theory at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) for undergrad and postgrads levels.

Since 2o16, Andrew has been supervising animated series for DreamWorks Animation, including “Boss Baby Back in Business”, “Boss Baby Back in the Crib”, and “Fast and Furious Spy Racers”.
Since its release, “Boss Baby Back in Business” has gone on to become one of Netflix highest viewed kid’s show in the Network’s history.

Andrew is currently working as a supervising director for Netflix and The Stone Quarry’s adult animated series, “Twilight of the Gods”, due for release in 2024.
