Andrea Piersanti

Digital compositor Andrea Piersanti grew up in the town of L'Aquila, a lively place in central Italy, wealth with public and cultural institutions. Attracted at an early age to cinema, Piersanti was fascinated and inspired by Walt Disney’s Classics and Pixar’s first feature films. After graduating in classical studies, he decided to focus his interests in cinema, one of the passions he has always pursued.

The world of visual effects attracted him a lot, so he attended the 180 hours Nuke Masterclass with Victor Perez to combine his artistic interests with strong technical skills. This experience allowed Piersanti to start his career in the film industry as a digital compositing artist, working in London, Berlin, Copenhagen and Rome.

His personal willingness to seek for stimulating projects led him to work as lead compositor on "Echo", a pioneering and VES Awards nominated short film, and to join the visual effects team for "The Invisible Boy: Second Generation", which won a David di Donatello (Italian Academy Award) for best visual effects. Other credits include "Spider-Man: Far from Home", "Fantastic Beasts", "The King's Man" and more.

To further motivate his interests and broaden his knowledge, Piersanti enrolled at the University of L’Aquila - Department of Humanities, where he graduated with honours on a dissertation about visual effects and intermediality along art history and cinema.
